Vegetable soup instead of the Nazi way: A tongue-in-cheek mistake brought much ridicule to controversial US Congressman Marjorie Taylor Greene. She obviously wanted to allude to the Gestapo, but she mistook the word for Spanish cold vegetable soup.
Pelosi, the Democratic Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, is hated by many conservatives, including those who resent the House committee investigating the January 2021 raid on the Capitol by supporters of former US President Donald Trump.
By mistake, famous Spanish chef José Andrés Greene offered to try real gazpacho at one of his restaurants in Washington.
“There is no soup for those who illegally spy on legislators.”
Green tried to mock himself on Wednesday. She wrote on her Twitter: “I illegally spy on lawmakers, but there is no soup for those who throw them in goulash.” Her references to her Hungarian meat soup were apparently allusion to another statement from her TV appearance that she failed. She accused Democrats of placing the attackers on the Capitol in a “camp”.
Green, who supports Trump’s vote rigging allegations and downplays attacks on the Capitol, is notorious for spreading conspiracy theories. Among other things, she compared her vaccination pass to a yellow Jewish star during her epidemic. This is a popular comparison among those who refuse to be vaccinated in Germany. She also supported an online call for the execution of famous Democratic politicians like Pelosi.
